The Founding Insight

Most people will spend 20 years managing a chronic disease that was preventable — not because the medicine didn't exist, but because the clinical system to deliver it in time never reached them.

Metamed exists to close that gap. Founded by Dr. Sara Ahmed, a board-certified internal medicine physician with sub-specialty training in obesity medicine from Harvard, and Ahmed Hussain, a technology innovator with two decades of experience scaling healthcare systems, we built the clinic we wished existed for our own families.

A clinic where every protocol is supervised by a physician. Where weight, metabolic age, lean mass, cardiovascular resilience, and behavioural patterns are treated as a system — not separate problems handed off to separate specialists. Where AI is used the way it should be: to give patients more of their physician's attention, not less.

Why longevity, not weight loss

The conventional weight-loss industry has trained an entire generation to measure success on a scale. But weight is a downstream signal. The underlying drivers — insulin resistance, chronic low-grade inflammation, sarcopenia, hormonal dysregulation, behavioural patterns — are what determine whether a body ages well or poorly over the next thirty years.

Metamed treats those drivers. The weight, the waist measurement, the body fat percentage all move when the underlying biology moves. They are dashboards, not destinations.
